it is hard to capture the words to describe my trip to atlanta.
it was so fun to spend the weekend with these girls! it is hard to describe how much fun it was to sew right along with those who love fabric and creating and sewing just as much as i do.

how fun it was to see rachel stand on her chair and as she took this picture. how fun it was to talk with her about do.Good and the projects she is working on. she is full of ideas and has so much talent and drive. and she makes a delicious green smoothie.

it is hard to describe how fun it was to walk next to maureen as we strolled into whipstitch. i was so looking forward to meeting maureen, she is so sweet and had the best stories! and she is AMAAAAAZINGLY talented. the oozes talent and sweetness!
how fun it was to sit next to my dear friend Jacey, in person. i love that girl. she is such a wonderful person and jessica said it perfectly on her blog; "jacey was the glue that made us instantly feel like old friends." that is true in every way.

it is hard to describe how fun it was to sit next to arajane as she made her 241 tote. how fun it was to talk to her and jessica and jacey about certain things that have been very, very difficult for me lately. i appreciated all of their kind, thoughtful words. it meant so much to me.

it is hard to describe how exciting it was to sit next to melody miller as we ate dinner. it was hard not to pass out or pee my pants when she told me how good the honey lime chicken enchiladas i made for dinner were! p.s. they are really good, you should make some, like today!
it is hard to describe how fun it was to be the middle of a designer sandwich!
how fun it was to see jessica finish her + & x quilt top. how fun it was chat and joke around with jessica, she is hilarious and so so so talented, be on the look out for an amazingly adorable outfit she whipped up for her daugher in like 2 minutes!

it is hard to describe how WONDERFUL it was to sew uninterrupted! no children arguing or crying, no laundry to be done. just sewing with wonderful dear dear friends!

ReplyDeleteSo good! It's like reliving it all! (and yes, now is apparently the time when everyone has gotten sick of us. Heehe) and I LOVED getting to talk to you about that stuff. Very few people really relate to that kind of thing

ReplyDeleteit looks like a good time was had by all.
I'm so glad we finally were able to meet, Nicke. And thank you. You gals are making me blush with your glue comment. ;) You're awesome, and I loved this post.
ReplyDeletesounds like a whole lotta fun! I think Atlanta quilters are lovely people ... I really liked the InTown Quilters store in Decatur, just on the edge of the big city, and I often wonder how the ladies from Center for the Visually Impaired are doing with their quitls - some of them have been quilting for years and are very inspiring making their quilts with little or no sight. I wouldn't even have started quilting if it hadn't been for that group!
ReplyDeleteAnd darn, I bet it was a lot warmer and less rainy than it is over here at the moment too ;)
So glad u had an amazing time! U deserve it!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see more from u and ur talent!
Half tempted to hire u to make a quilt for Mackenzie! ;) I know I can do it but it is getting focused and energy to get it done ;)
Xoxo
Glad you got to meetup with your sewing friends!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNicke, You are SOOOO sweet. I don't feel like we got to connect as well as I'd have liked, having sewn in different rooms, but it's easy to see that you are a kind and generous person through and through.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had a picture of you in that coral apron on Sunday night!
Oh my HEART! What pattern is that dress?? You look fabulous Nicke : )
ReplyDeleteSo totally jealous!
ReplyDeleteI loved reading this post!! This is everything sewing should be, and I love seeing how it brings everyone together. I'm so glad you had such a good trip!
ReplyDeleteGreat post Nicke!! I hope we can meet up again sooner than later -- it was such a pleasure to get to spend the weekend with you! I love the Designer Sandwich pic, it's my favorite for sure!! ;)
