shoofly...giveaway.

Giveaway closed...
winner chosen and to be declared shortly!

here she is in all of her glorious splendor. FINISHED...
well, the top at least... i see more quilting in my future.

but sadly, she needs a name.
because, once she is done, she will live on miss S's bed, until i finish swoon... and miss S needs a name for this quilt.  she could probably come up with one on her own, she named my serger Ferk.
yes, Ferk.
and because of that miss S has lost her naming privileges.  ;) jk.
i love her.
do you?

would you like to name her for me?
how about this...
i will give away two or three fat quarters of my new PEACOCK LANE fabrics if you can give me a name that i love.  shoofly is not sweet enough for her.
you have until monday... yes, monday at 11:25 a.m. idaho time.
then i will announce the winner!

linking up with that crazy mom!

p.s.  if you want to get these awesome fq's if you are the lucky namer, make sure i can contact you.
are you a no reply blogger?

  1. wow it's gorgeous! i'm impressed that you finished the top so quickly.

i'm really bad with names. how bout, "Fly Girl," cuz, you know...it's a shoo-fly. and it's fly. even though the kids haven't been saying that for years. anyway.

  2. What a gorgeous quilt. How about 'pink glory'? I know, not very imaginative, but to me the pink is just crying out and it's a glorious quilt!

  3. She is a beauty! Unfortunately my mind is void of creative wordiness this morning... the only thing that comes to mind is "marmalade." lol I know, big help I am! ;o)

  4. I have to say that the first thing that came to my mind was "Short Stop"! I think it's a darling quilt, and I love the variation of the blocks.

  6. For some reason, the name "secret windows" came straight to my mind! But I'm sure Miss S just won't have any of that lol Hmm... I want this fabric... So... "Rapunzel"?? She has a secret window!! Haha

  8. I'm terrible at naming quilts, but would love to win your fabric, so . . . how about Kamikaze Flyby cause it's all mixed up? Love the quilt!

  9. ROFL, can't think why Miss S lost naming privileges after that ;o)

How about Flying Down The Lane

  10. How about "taking flight." Your quilt top is beautiful and I see lots of movement with all those angles and colors. Love it.

  11. How about va mouche? It's a really awful translation of shoofly into French, but sounds like vamoose, which is such an awesome word. And I guess could also be badly translated as shoo moose. Oh, man, that would be bad if there were a moose in your house!

    ;)
    Chelsea

ooh, or you could use my word verification, which is awboomp! Love that!

  12. Shoo fly is one of my favourite blocks!
How about 'Nicandra' the name of the shoo fly plant? it has pretty purple flowers

  13. Ok I really stink at this. I have to say I think Miss S is better at this than I am. I actually really like the name Knotty Gnome has chosen. BUT when I think of Shoo Fly I think of shoes because I have a thing for shoes. And if I was wearing this quilt on my feet I would be struttin' my stuff so it would have to be something like "Struttin' in Style" but Fly Girl is much better!

  14. "I swoon for the Shoo fly" ? I just love those shoo flys and the colors you used!

  15. Beautiful! How about "Shoo-Fly Sweetie Pie"? It used to be a common beginner block among the Amish. Supposedly the name came from a pie so sweet that they had to shoo the flies. Good luck with the quilt naming!

  16. I think these shoo flies look like they are about to roll away, so how about "Rollin'"

  17. Dotty? or Wonky Dotty? or Dorothy? I like using human names for quilts. heh.

    it's a sweet patchwork, btw!

  18. **Note** It is very early still in my part of the world...with that said.."Choo Fly" (the designer shoe guy...LOL) or my first thought, "Waiting for Swoon", "Dreaming of Swoon". I know, remember, it is early here.Oh, Hmm, "Miss S. Flier" OK, off to wake up more (Thanks for the opportunity!)

  19. wow, its lookin great. Shoopafly...Thats my best at the moment! Ferk. Thats ferking hillarious! I think miss S needs her naming privileges back lol

  20. Hmmm, I do like Chawne's suggestion of a human name. Other than that, I'd do something like Wonky Hoot or Hooty Wonk (for the fabric line and the bee, of course!).

    And Ferk? Seriously awesome. ;)

  21. First off...that is the cutest blog header I've ever seen!! Name...thinking...thinking..."Shoofly Frenzy"!!

  22. Oh I am rubbish at names- wonky woods is all that is coming to mind at the moment... quilt top looks wonderful!

  23. I think that the name should be Swirly Girl because it has so much movement.

  24. Other people name my quilts, and I have to admit I sort of like Ferk, but what about Crazy Pink Shoos.

  25. I am so awful at names!!! But I'll try...let's see...what about Superfly or maybe Wonky Hoots? Wow, I really stink at this :) Love the quilt, though, it's gorgeous!

  26. It makes me feel light and airy, like flying,in an ethereal way. when you received the blocks, you recalled, "i decided on the liberated shoo-fly... it speaks to my soul." so how about the name Soul Song? I describes your feelings as well as the effect it had on me, too. :O)
